The 6th LAWASIA Family Law & Children’s Rights Conference was held invHong Kong SAR from 9 to 11 June 2016，jointly supported by Law Society of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Academy of Law. Over 200 lawyers, judges, legal academics from USA, United Kingdom, France, Australia,Switzerland, Singapore, Japan, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan and Hong Kong joined this conference.

The conference focused on a range of cross border family law and children’rights issues including the challenges facing the judges and lawyers,alternative dispute resolution, multidisciplinary approaches to disputes relating to children, ethical issues for family lawyers and dealing with modern family concepts across jurisdictions.

Ms. Ningning Zhao, the Partner of Beijing Jincheng Tongda & Neal Law Firm (JT&N) as the fellow of LAWASIA joined the conference and made apresentation on Mediation in International Family Disputes.

Since its inception in 1966, as the Law Association for Asia and thePacific, LAWASIA brings together the peak bodies representing lawyers of the ESCAP region and individual members of the legal community from around the world. 

In this capacity, LAWASIA has, over almost fifty years, operated as aplatform to promote cross-jurisdictional exchanges of legal information and education, sharing principles of rule of law and legal practice.
